Dr. Craig Hurst, my most favorite Dr. who has delivered all my babies.
This pregnancy has been one of my best pregnancies. I felt really good until about 35 weeks, which is pretty amazing considering all the things that happened during those 35 weeks. Ryan started a new job after Partnet closing shop, we found out we were pregnant and decided to move, Ryan started a flip house demolition with his brother Chris, and I continued to work a day and 1/2 until the end of June. Once our house sold, we moved to the flip house and Ryan continued to finish it while we lived there. We then found a new house in Layton and he painted, replaced finish work, and cleaned it up so we could arrive before baby Ryder was born. He did an amazing job and I am so glad life has settled down.
So once I was 35 weeks, I started having intense back pain everyday at about 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.. Contractions would come and go and my heartburn was so bad, waking me up sometimes in the night and making it impossible to sleep. I also was swollen and had numb legs and hands. I was really miserable but would still try to get up and do things because the other kids needed to get out during the day. So different than my first pregnancy because there are now 3 little people around when I'm pregnant who demand a lot so it is not as easy to rest.
Anyway, the day before I went into labor, we had been at Boston's soccer practice and hard contractions started but ended by 10 p.m. that night. The next morning I went to see Dr. Hurst to get checked and he said I was a 3 and progressing but was concerned about my contractions that had started that morning around 7. I told him I was going to wait until they became harder before I went to the hospital and he said, "Would you rather just have me admit you now?" Those were the best words I had ever heard and I started to cry because I had been so miserable. He told me to go home and get everything situated. I called Ryan and we arrived around 12 that afternoon. My contractions were getting worse so they started an IV and epidural quickly. We waited for some time before he came to break my water at 3:30 p.m. and I delivered at 5:42 p.m. I felt so much better once Ryder arrived. Dr. Hurst placed him on my stomach when he came out and I just once again was overwhelmed with the gift of life our Father in Heaven has blessed us with. Amazing! Ryder came out screaming and calmed down once he was cleaned up. He tried to come out sideways but Dr. Hurst thankfully flipped him. We are so glad he is here and I feel so much better.
The kids are in love with this baby, especially Boston. He takes care of him during the day and is my biggest helper.
Brinley is constantly asking, "Where's Ryder?"
The kids stayed with my parents while I delivered and they brought them to the hospital the night he was born to meet him.

Cambree also loves to hold the baby and she is very motherly.
